Shoes

A noticeable lack of blog motivation from me recently...
I'm considering a pair of Irregular Choice shoes to spend my Christmas money on, I think I've narrowed it down to 2 pairs, but which should I get?

Embroidery again?

I don't know what it is about embroidery recently, but I really like it. I think I just like the simplicity of it, it looks so achievable and makes me wish I went on public transport more often so that I could sit there and stitch. 'Do more needlework' is going on my new years resolutions list.

Here is some inspiration by etsy seller Moxiedoll:

Robots, umbrellas and wedding dresses.

I want a robot memory stick.
Unfortunately they are £27.95 each which is pretty expensive for 2GB of memory and I'm not even in the market for a new memory stick BUT THEIR EYES LIGHT UP WHEN YOU PLUG THEM INTO YOUR COMPUTER.

I also want this birdcage umbrella from Lulu Guinness:

and I wouldn't mind this this wedding dress...

40 Days till Christmas!

I've just added some festive necklaces to my shop and I'm also giving 15% off all orders with the discount code 'XMAS' so get your Christmas presents sorted now! There is no excuse!

Home is where your stuff is...

I really like this print from heatherfuture on etsy. I think the girl is actually me? I have that exact camera and a very similar tea cup. Maybe I should get that purple hat? I'm definitely considering purchasing the print though.

What Party?

I just found a supremely good embodier on etsy.

I'm sooooo tempted by the kangeroo one. Red and green should never be seen.
I just bought myself this sewing box though, should i really keep spending on random things i really don't need at all and have nowhere to put? Hmmmm

5 Things I Like Monday - The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair.

This week i've been volunteering at The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, which is a collection of the country's best contemporary makers. Here is my five favourite makers from this year's show:

Rachel Darbourne - Jewellery made from folded circles of polythene.

Sally Collins (my idol)- She makes intricate, frilly pieces using textiles and metal.

Jessica Hewitt
- Crisp metalwork, based on floral motifs.

&made - selling a collection of really cute cactus pin cushions.

Clare Knox-Bentham - Large illustrative installations sold by a lovely lady.

Write A Bike

Ohhh my lord, look at these, they haven't yet even made it to the prototype stage, but it is a genius idea all the same.

Gitte Kongstad

I got the 'IKEA Family Life' magazine through my door a couple of weeks ago, and there was a piece in it showing the apartment of Gitte Kongstad. I love her! She lives by the sea, an hour out of Copenhagen and her motto is "ye older, ye more wild!". Her house is so colourful, it's brilliant.

"For me, development and change are fundamental to life. This is how I live. Active, engaged, trying out new ideas and often moving on to the next one even if the last is unfinished. The result can be chaos as I am messy by nature. I have learned to live with my 'disorder' by creating systems so I can find every little thing."

"Using the curtain string as a picture rail lets me change photos without having to make more holes in the wall."

"I've put noticeboards up all around my apartment - by the front door, in the guest room, study and living room. Who can hold all the information they need in their head? A noticeboard is an effective and attractive prompt."

" Humour in design is wonderful. The purple shelves behind my dining table are full of things with humour. Practical solutions can also look good - I play with shelves, turning my things into displays I can change as I like."

IKEA Cookbook

I really like IKEA, and I quite like cookbooks, so it pleases me that IKEA sells cookbooks, but it pleases me even more when they have really brilliant photographs inside them like these:

5 Things I Like Monday - Watches!

I like watches, I definitely feel it's time i got a new one but I've become so attached to my gold casio that I'm not sure i can live without it, imagine how many cakes i would burn if i didn't have the timer on my watch beeping at me, telling me to take them out of the oven... That aside, i like these watches:

O'Clock blue aqua watch -  O'CLOCK.

I am a geek and i like binary watches. The upper row of the LED is to tell hours and the lower LED is to tell the minutes. - 'i want one of those'.

Absolutely mental watch "The rings of the watch are in constant motion, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The goal of this watch is to create a new form of telling time that will inspire and spark wonder in the viewer." - Geoffrey Cooper.

Colourfullll watch, looks like it might have a stop watch too? - ASOS.

Colour wheel watch - Streamline.
