Film Photography

This post is dedicated to Nicola Semple who recently bought a beautiful Diana F+ camera and who also has been telling me that i need to update this blog more often...

Anyway, this is Nicola's camera. It is delightful and i was lucky enough to be at her house when she unwrapped it, and began to learn what it could do. We went to the park and I am jolly excited to see the results. The best thing about this camera (i think) is how experimental you can be with it. Adjusting things such as the shutter speed and colour splash and celebrating the quirky imperfections that show through in your photographs.

I was very tempted to bite the bullet and buy myself one, but alas, i have a draw of 7 film cameras that barely get used, so i trawled the internet looking for new things to do, and i came across a flickr group called film destroyers.

I currently have an old (possibly expired) film soaking in a glass of lemon juice, which i hope will produce strange colour effects such as this:

Note to self: update the blog!

I have decided to make a late new years resolution to update this blog more often.
For the first update, i give you this recipe for a 5 minute chocolate cake in a mug!

Take a large coffee mug and put into it: 2 tablespoons of self-raising flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. Mix together and add 1 egg. Mix well until everything is combined and add 1 tablespoon of milk and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Put the mug in the microwave and cook on 'High' for three minutes. The cake will rise really high out of the mug, but when you stop the microwave it will sink down again, so don't panic! Now, sit back, relax, and indulge.

quick update...

I am really terrible at updating the blog!

At the moment i seem to be really busy. I've just started a new college course which is taking up a lot of my time. I've also been doing some craft fairs in and around Manchester which i should really blog about so people know about them! On top of that, Christmas orders seem to be coming in already so i barely have time to think, but i am hopefully going to have a bit of a re-vamp of the website soon including some new designs, but at this rate it might be the new year before everything is sorted!
